Deborah Bates has worked as a private conservator since 1980. She trained at Camberwell School of Art and is an accredited member of ICON, the Institute of Conservation.
Deborah is a conservator of all works of art on paper, with a particular interest in eighteenth and nineteenth century pastels.
Deborah also undertakes condition surveys of small or large paper based collections, be it fine art, ephemera or printed material. A full consultation and report service, including advice on collection care is available. She can liaise on your behalf with all the major auction houses, inspecting and reporting on the condition of specific lots and can advise on the viability of conservation treatments before sale. After sale, for overseas clients, the studio can organize collection and shipment.
